Colts Land 5 Pro Bowlers and Two Alternates

The Colts for the first times since 2010 have landed 5 players on the Pro Bowl roster with two more as alternates.  That is something that we all were used to seeing in the Manning Era but haven’t, obviously, seen in the Luck era.

Vontae Davis, Andrew Luck, TY Hilton, Pat McAfee and Adam Vinatieri were named as the 5 to head to Hawaii to represent the Indianapolis Colts.  D’Qwell Jackson and Mike Adams were named as alternates and will more than likely have the opportunity to be a part of the festivities with players always pulling out of the pro bowl.

We would like to send a huge congrats to these players who have been the backbone of this team this season and their efforts were noticed by fans.

This will be McAfee, Davis and Hilton’s first trip to the Pro Bowl, but for Luck this will mark his 3rd Pro Bowl.  This will be Vinny’s 4th trip to the Pro Bowl.

This game has lost some of it’s luster of the last couple of years but the new format where all the players are in one pool and a “fantasy draft” is conducted by two NFL alum, Michael Irvin and Cris Carter this year.  Irvin and Carter will choose from the pool of players and put together the best team they possibly can.  This format is something that the fans have openly stated they enjoy more.  This first happened two years ago when Jeff Saturday, who was retiring that season, was allowed to go into the game and snap the ball to his long time friend and teammate Peyton Manning.  Saturday was with the Green Bay Packers at the time and Peyton was with the Broncos.

Fans enjoyed seeing that and asked for more and they received.  Congrats to all the Pro Bowl selections and especially those who will be representing our hometown.
